Morning, Noon and Night!

"Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet!"
- Roger Miller

And with this comes to mind what I heard on Seinfeld the other day... 'Ever noticed how we are crazy about getting close to the water... we can give anything for a vacation on a beach... to be near a waterfall etc etc... but whenever we are out walking on the streets and a drop of rain falls on our head we just stop short in our tracks and look up as if the sky was falling! We run inside.. 'Oh my gosh! I nearly got wet in the rain!' "

Well people, it was I guess the pre monsoons and me and Mumbai! Shades of grey fluttered over the sky as it mixed with hues of pink and purple from an evening sun... A starless night and some much wanted sleep... an insanely peaceful spirit! The morning found her raring to go... the cloud cover had turned to a mystic blue-grey with the sun streaming through in places making it look like the 'stairway to heaven!' Her heart was warm... anticipation showed through and she felt like a 14 year old discovering life! (13's too teenagerish! :D)

And yes.. it rained! And she walked in the rain... :) The visible mass of condensed water suspended in the atmosphere took up shapes and signs she gleefully tried to decipher and the other men in her life laughed at her constant giggles as they shared a garma garam 'bhutta'! :) The night was ablaze with fire from both her heart and the coals in the barbecue... Loads of idle chatter, chili vodkas and tequila shots were on a roll along with very succulent fish and chicken! Also a very very sinful cheese dip! The music - a myriad mix of all FM stations! The aftermath: a house that looks like it was struck by a storm! 5 people find their comfort corners and plonk off into dreamland with no will to wake up any earlier than proves to be most necessary!

Another day another way... an all of 4 months pregnant mommy waddling around the house for want of sleep!!! So they sit together and talk away till noon over aaloo parathas and orange juice! Generally catching up on each others life... Di somehow can always figure out when somethin's up with her and then eventually they sit down together and have a heart-to-heart! :) The next day finds di stuck in office and she's watchin 'Pirates of the Caribbean' and has fallen head over heels for Johnny Depp! She sneaks into home late in the night and tries to be as quiet as she possibly can with her 'vishalkaya' frame and insane habit of banging into things! Sone pe suhaga is a Swiss cow bell right on the door which merrily loves to announce the arrival of any and everyone at any and every possible hour!!! :P

Another day... Another night! And it finds her on the ledge of a huge french window at the 32nd floor (top floor) looking over city lights... a few stars shine through... a glass of good french wine... coldplay and u2 on her pod and her heart fills with a plethora of thoughts! 'He' races through her head... the past and future both flash by... the future of course is anticipatory and idyllic even... Her tarot cards reveal 'Patience child! u will eventually get what u want!' And she wonders, 'What do I really want?'

Her last day finds her out on the streets of the city where she luvs to be... she's already been to 'linking road' thrice (ah the unadulterated joys of a subway sandwich after a shopping filled day!) and is now headed south of town where she lets her spirit take wings and fly! This was one of the times 'she believed she could fly!' The eyes are a window to the soul... such had been proved more than once in the past few days and as she walked the streets and explored on she could only marvel at the dreams in each soul! In a city full of sights and sounds she lost herself as the wind blew her hair about and as his hands slowly touched her head and played with her hair she found she was beautiful!

As she hugged her goodbyes to both of 'em and got into the train her hands reached out for the phone and Shekhar finally decided to tell her why they couldn't meet!

She slept like a baby on the train... Its never happened before! (She thinks she knows why... refer back to the giant in the previous posts :D) She's been home for a few days now... Catching up with Mom.. Watching movies with her... driving her around town and up the wall! :D

The image that flashes time again through her head is that of a li'l boy riding his cycle on a divider which by some twist of the municipality is a lil more than a metre wide... She can'thelp but wander at the small joys of life and the li'l ways in which each makes place for them!

She leaves tomorrow on another journey of sorts to a city unexplored by her before... She begins work soon... it's given her a few butterflies in the stomach... :)

The anticipations of a wanderer....! (yes that does mean she'll be irregular on the blog for sometime!)

A note: A lot of special moments happened to her... She just smiles a soft, slow smile and now drifts off into dreamland!

found this on the www :)
